Eat more small meals during the day to lose fat pounds

Every time you eat, you burn up calories and increase your metabolism to digest the meal. If you eat many small meals throughout the day, you will burn more calories, eat less during major meals and easily lose fat pounds. We did not say eat more calories. You have to eat same number of calories but consume the total in a series of small meals or mini-meals to optimize your metabolism and burn more calories. Be creative with meal contents. Try eating foods higher in fiber- such as whole-grained breads, fruits and vegetables, or food with a high air content for dessert- such as nonfat, low-sugar yogurt. Drinking plenty of water while you craze will also stave off the hunger monster.

Control your insulin levels avoiding sugar

Carbohydrates are critical fuels during exercise. They are fast and help you work at high-intensities. Most carbs enter your system as glucose. When you eat a meal high in simple sugars, glucose quickly enters your blood and your body responds by secreting insulin so it can move the sugar into your cells. While this is a natural beneficial process, it can have a downside (particularly if you push this process too hard). Chronically high insulin levels are linked to a variety of health problems, such as heart disease, insulin resistance, obesity, high blood pressure and cancer. Complex carbohydrates take longer to digest and do not give you the same increase in insulin. Generally, try to eat fewer foods that contain simple sugars, such as soft drinks and desserts, and eat more foods containing complex carbohydrates. Get most of you calories from grains, fruits, vegetables, nonfat dairy foods and lean meats. Avoid foods with added sugar. Look on the foo label. You can tell there has been sugar added if the ingredient list corn syrup, dextrose, high-fructose corn syrup or maltose.
